A little bit about me…

Shannon Boe LMFT

Hi, I’m Shannon—a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist offering online therapy for high school students, college-aged individuals, and young adults across California, including those based in the Los Angeles area. I specialize in helping clients navigate life transitions, anxiety, depression, phobias, trauma, and relationship or family challenges.

My approach is collaborative and personalized to your needs. I often draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), helping clients understand how past patterns shape their present, and how small mindset shifts can lead to big emotional growth. Many people I work with are trying to better understand themselves, build confidence, and set healthier boundaries—whether at home, in relationships, or in school or work environments.

Therapy for Life in Transition – From High School to Young Adulthood

High school, college, and early adulthood can be full of exciting possibilities—and intense pressure. Between academic expectations, identity exploration, and evolving social dynamics, it’s easy to feel lost or overwhelmed. If you’re living or studying in places like LA, the pressure to “have it all figured out” can feel even heavier.

It’s common to experience anxiety, self-doubt, sadness, or loneliness during these years. You might be navigating family conflict, relationship changes, or big questions about who you are and what comes next. Online therapy offers a flexible, supportive space to explore those thoughts and feelings, gain insight, and learn skills to manage the ups and downs of growing into yourself.

My goal is to walk alongside you in this process—to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward. I also accept some college student health insurance plans, helping make therapy more accessible while you focus on your future

EMDR Trained Therapist in California

In addition to talk therapy, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a research-backed approach often used to help clients process trauma, anxiety, and other overwhelming experiences. EMDR can support the brain’s natural healing process, helping you feel less stuck and more grounded. While I don’t use EMDR in every session, I integrate it when it aligns with your goals and needs. This flexible, evidence-based method can be especially helpful for college students and young adults working through past experiences that still impact their present.
