A little bit about me…
Shannon Boe LMFT
As an Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #151737, I primarily work with high school students, college-aged individuals, and young adults navigating a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, phobias, family dynamics, and trauma. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client's unique needs. Day to day, I often use a cognitive-behavioral lens to help clients recognize how past patterns influence their present. Many clients work with me to better understand themselves, build self-esteem, and establish healthier boundaries in their lives.
High school and young adulthood can be incredibly challenging times, full of change, growth, and uncertainty. Many young people feel overwhelmed by academic pressures, social dynamics, or the stress of figuring out who they are and what they want for their future. I have noticed that it is common to experience anxiety, self-doubt, or even sadness during this time. Some might struggle with friendships, relationships, or family dynamics, while others might be navigating questions about their identity or dealing with feelings of loneliness. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space to talk through these feelings, gain clarity, and build tools to help manage the ups and downs of this important stage in life.
My Approach
I also incorporate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) into my practice (where appropriate), which can be particularly effective for young adults dealing with trauma or overwhelming emotions. EMDR helps clients process difficult memories and reduce their emotional charge, enabling them to move forward more freely. By integrating this powerful tool into our work, I aim to help you break free from the past, empowering you to engage in your present and future fully. Together, we can work toward healing and growth, turning challenges into stepping stones for a more fulfilling life.
